It’s mid-February. Ugh. The holidays are over and spring is only thirty days away, yet it seems like we are in month five of winter. If you are a winter person, you must be totally in your element with all this snow. I, however, prefer the summer sun shining on me as much as possible and these gray days have me missing it terribly. This is a rough time of year for a lot of people, including those who may already be throwing in the towel on their New Year’s Resolutions. If this is you, I’d like to offer you some words of encouragement to continue on your journey towards your goals.
It’s never too late.
It’s never too late to get in shape. It’s never too late to make healthier food choices. It’s never too late to make positive changes for yourself. Never. Maybe you started off the year by hitting the gym five times a week and are down to once or twice. That’s ok. Maybe you started off the year eating a super clean diet and you’ve “cheated” a couple times. That’s ok. Wherever you are at in your pursuit of your goals, it’s ok. We are not perfect beings. The phrase “human error” exists for a reason. We make mistakes. We take breaks, hit pause or take a time-out on our goals. But we don’t have to give up.
Life is not an all-or-nothing experience and our goals shouldn’t play out that way either.
It’s only February!
There’s so much time left this year to hit those targets. If you feel you were a bit ambitious with your goals this year, set new ones! Make changes, adjust and keep going. I encourage you to dig deep and find whatever it is that fueled you at the beginning of the year. Remember why you set those intentions and forget why you quit moving towards them. Progress, not perfection. So, take a deep breath and hit the refresh button. You got this!
