Staying On Track

Easy to bake, fast to finish! This new article explains why organic, gluten free recipes are the best thing since slide bread!

With summer just around the corner, you’re probably loading up on propane and oiling those grill grates in mouth-watering anticipation.  Fill up the pool, bust out the sunscreen, grab some new sunnies and get ready to party.  Luckily, parties do not have to mean cheating or getting off track with healthy eating.

While there is sure to be a wide array of tempting yet not-so-hip/thigh/butt-friendly options, don’t worry!  You can still maintain your awesome status without being chained to the veg platter.  First of all, if you are going to a potluck, bring a healthy side, paleo dessert or even your own jar of Evolve BBQ Sauce.  Chances are, people won’t even know they’re paleo and if they ask for the recipe it will create some great conversation about your awesome lifestyle and an opportunity to tell all your friends abut Evolve! (shameless referral-bonus plug)

Fortunately, BBQs are centered around one thing: BBQs (duh).  Which likely means lots of grilled meat – hopefully without too much sauce.  Burgers, chicken, steaks, pork chops, etc.  These are all beautifully paleo-friendly options that are likely to be kissing the grill grates when you arrive.  Boom!  Your protein is taken care of, you’ve likely brought a side or dessert, now grazing the fruit and veg platters will just be for extra snacks.

Now, the part I know you’re really wondering about… da booze.  Although alcohol is not really Paleo friendly, it’s perfectly ok to indulge every once in a while.  Even Robb Wolf suggests the NorCal Margarita if you are looking to have an adult beverage without straying too far.  It’s basically a couple of shots of tequila, the juice and pulp of one lime and a bit of club soda.  Perfectly refreshing for celebrating the beginning of summer, if you ask me.
