Why I became a ”Gheegan”

A couple of the most frequently asked questions about our pantry items “what is ghee” and “how/why should I use it” so let’s talk about that for a minute. Ghee is a class of clarified butter that originated in ancient India and is commonly used in South Asian, Iranian and Arabic cuisines, traditional medicine and religious ceremony. Ghee is prepared by simmering butter and removing the residue that has separated from the milk solids. It tastes amazing, rich and delicious it can be used in place of butter= try it on your steamed veggies sprinkled with hemp seeds. YUM! My favorite is ghee blended into my coffee to replace dairy creamer. I’m hooked for life.

Now for the best part…the health benefits of ghee:

Because ghee- if it is from grassfed cows – is high in Omega 3’s it protects against inflammation and heart disease
